The Value of a Multidisciplinary Approach to Lyme Disease
Thursday, May 7th, 2026, 7:00- 9:00pm EST
We are honored to welcome back John Aucott, MD, Director of the Johns Hopkins Lyme Disease Research Center and Clinical Care Program, for his 10th annual keynote update to the Lyme Care Resource Center community. Dr. Aucott will share how a multidisciplinary approach is key to driving advances in Lyme disease research and patient care, from new diagnostics and biomarker discoveries to cutting-edge neuroimaging research.
Learn how multidisciplinary collaboration is validating the biological basis of Lyme disease, dispelling outdated psychosomatic misconceptions, and guiding new directions in treatment, including the clinical management of dysautonomia. A physician-scientist and Barbara Townsend Cromwell Professor in Lyme Disease and Tickborne Illness, Dr. Aucott is a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Rheumatology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. A subspecialty-trained infectious diseases specialist, he has cared for and studied Lyme disease patients at Johns Hopkins since 1996 and leads the SLICE studies, a major research program examining the multifactorial mechanisms underlying persistent illness.
Through his leadership the Research Center and Clinical Care Program bridges knowledge gaps and translates scientific discoveries into improved care for patients. Please join us for this informative livestream event, and invite your healthcare provider, family, and friends to take part.
